We are a proactive group of actors, writers, directors and those who just love theatre. We meet to read plays and scripts. We can of course meet and read anywhere, but usually we like to do it in the comfort of our living rooms in Penge and the surrounding area with a cup of tea, a slice of cake and the occasional glass of wine.
Sometimes we travel into London! We have been known to read for other established writers and directors who wish to hear work read aloud. In the past we have even got off the sofa, practised a few scenes and given each other a hand with audition texts and filmed castings.
Predominantly, however, we are a meeting point for local actors who enjoy plays, want to improve their cold reading skills, expand their knowledge of plays and discuss ideas, plays and the universe without stressing too much with travelling around the capital and encountering the expense of workshops and the like. Dedicated but relaxed is the way forward!
We welcome new members, suggestions of plays and reviews. If you are an actor, or someone with a general enthusiasm for plays, then please give us a shout.
